One of the hardest things to do in life, for some of us, is to make the choice to just “DO YOU.” For some un-explainable reason, it seems that people genuinely think that they have a solution for your life when you are still just trying to figure everything out. Maybe they can offer some options, however, it is important to find your way and follow the divine path for your life.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I know what is to be in a position that makes absolutely no sense. When that still small voice tells you to do something that appears to have no logic in order to achieve something that is totally unrelated. Who can understand the mysteries of God? Not me, but I think that is the point. We spend so much time trying to figure things out and we rationalize situations to the death, but what we fail to do quickly is trust God. We trust our minds, we trust our understanding, and we trust the opinions and options of other, but we are slow to have faith and trust in God.
Many times He will allow us to be in uncomfortable positions that we cannot maneuver out of on our own. I like to call it “The Great Faith Stretch.” It is a place that causes frustration, aggravation, and irritation. In a nutshell, all things that describe discomfort are fair game in the Great Faith Stretch. In the same way that Judas’ was assigned to betray Jesus, there will be people who are unknowingly assigned to make you miserable. They may be co-workers, supervisors, family members, could be anyone. Their job is to push you out of your comfort zone and closer to God.
You can understand the things in your comfort zone. You know what works and what does not work. You know what to do and what not to do, but what happens when the things that you know don’t work anymore? You have no choice but to do something that you possibly have never done in order to get a result that you have never had that works. It all works together for your good, to get you closer to your destiny by helping you to understand that you have done the best that you can do with you.
The Solution…… DO YOU! Stand in faith doing the thing that others don’t necessarily agree with or understand. The best way to do you is to stop worrying about what anyone else has to say or think and follow the voice of the Lord. Let God lead and guide you, not man. You don’ t have to fully understand it. You just have to obey and trust that God will not lead you wrong.
Proverbs 3:5,6 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Don’t fret. God has a plan for you, all you have to do is make the choice to DO YOU!
